Patti Shankarpale

Patti Shankarpale

Savory shankarpale (Diamond shaped fried chips) from leftover patti.

Here is Recipe for Patti Samosa. You can make delicious and crunchy chips from the leftover pattis. I like these small, crunchy chips very much, and I purposly make few patties extra to make Shankarpale. Sweeter version, more popular one, of Shankarpale is traditionally made during Diwali. Savory or Sweet, Shankarpale/Shankarpali are rectancle or diamonds, usually with the "jagged edges" that are created by a special cutter.
